No fewer than 15 persons died in an accident involving a Sharon bus and a truck along Gujungu-Gumel road in Kaugama Local Government Area of Jigawa. Ottawa police say they have arrested a suspect in the shooting deaths of two men on Monday. Alam Gabriel Buoc have been the subject of a nationwide warrant until his arrest on Thursday night. The 30-year-old man was being sought in connection with the deaths of 26-year-old Abdulrahman Al-Shammari and 27-year-old Dirie Olol, who both died of gunshot wounds Monday. Police were also seeking a suspect in the shooting of a third man, who remains in serious condition in hospital. Officers had responded to a hospital around 7 a.m. Monday for a report of a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police later found the body of Al-Shammari in the city's west end, and the body of Olol in an abandoned vehicle. Buoc is scheduled to appear in court Friday to face two charges of first-degree murder and one of attempted murder.

No date has been announced for when the meeting will be conducted. JAMB insists that it has not released the cut-off mark for the 2017 examination. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cautioned prospective applicants seeking employment into the service not to pay any money to any person or group of persons. NIS Comptroller-General, Mr Muhammad Babandede, gave the warning in a statement signed by the service Spokesperson, Mr Sunday James, on Monday in Abuja. On Monday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service, NIS and Nigeria Prisons Service boards announced approval for recruitment. The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) says more than 10,000 candidates caught for examination malpractices in the on-going UTME in Anambra have been handed over to the appropriate authority. Mrs Lynda Nwachukwu, the Coordinator of the board in Anambra disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Saturday. NAN reports that the all computer-based testing (CBT) mode 2017 UTME, which started on May 13 in 642 centres nationwide, ended on May 20. Nwachukwu said that the examination, which took place in 28 centres in the state, was successful. "There was no disruption of the exercise in any of the examination centres,'' she said. The coordinator said that the candidates adhered strictly to the requirements of the examination, adding that JAMB provided all the materials required for the examination.
